Translating research into impact.
Investing in quality early childhood development is a proven strategy for reducing deficits and strengthening the economy. In fact, for programs that target disadvantaged children, there is a 7-10% return on investment according to University of Chicago Nobel laureate economist James Heckman. With this project, we had the twin gifts of powerful findings and a credible messenger. The challenge was translating academic research into something all of us could understand.
